De-icing and Anti-icing The MSG solution will perform de-icing operations with a high level of safety and efficiency in accordance with existing regulations. Washing All of the Multi Solution Gate models offer a brushless wash with high precision nozzles that perform high-pressure washing both over and underneath the aircraft. While the RS-500 has both washing and de-icing capabilities, the RS-400 is designed for ordinary washing and inspection of aircraft only. The RS-400S has a built-in functionality that will de-sand an aircraft (both body and engine) quickly and safely. This automated system is designed for all Code C/Group 3 size aircraft and smaller and is pre-programmed for each aircraft model. The system will wash according to existing procedures for each aircraft, and special washing programs can be designed by demand and/or specifications from various airlines. The washing time is approximately 20 minutes, depending on the aircraft model and the kind of program requested. MSG recommends using only manufacturer approved cleaning agents for washing of aircraft. De-sanding Process Certain geographical areas face challenges due to dry climates with blowing dust and sand. The sand and dust can quickly form a layer over the entire aircraft. Similar to frost, ice and snow, sand can also contribute to the reduction of the effectiveness required by the aircraft`s lifting surfaces to fly safely. The Multi Solution Gate RS-400S has a built-in functionality that can provide a quick flush with pure water in order to expediently remove the dust from all surfaces of the aircraft. The system will flush the aircraft with pure warm water as the plane is being pulled through the Multi Solution Gate by the electric aircraft tug. Under flushing ensures that the underside of the aircraft wings and body are properly de-sanded. The process is continuous and will allow the aircraft to be de-sanded before take-off or after landing in just a few minutes. Engine Flush As time passes and an aircraft is in daily use, a modern aircraft engine will accrue deposits of hydrocarbons on all surfaces. These deposits reduce engine efficiency due to increased drag, weight, and fuel consumption. By cleaning the aircraft engines at regular intervals, the lifespan can be significantly increased. When all surfaces are clean, the engines can burn fuel more completely, ensuring better overall economy due to lower fuel consumption and longer maintenance intervals. The cleaner the fuel burning, the less fuel the engines will use. Therefore, the Multi Solution Gate has built-in engine flushing capability. The exact program cycle varies from one engine type to another, but in general, the process will take 5-20 minutes, depending on the level of contamination due to sand and dust. Inspection Process Both RS-400 and RS-500 models can be equipped with an inspection camera as an option.
